It all depends on the larger scope of the implementation. These days most of the big IT companies are involved with the System Integration Services. But they are not clear about which CMMI Model to opt for their organization. Should they go with CMMI for Services or CMMI for Development?
Answer to this question lies in the scope. If the Software Development work is a part of the larger System Integration Services then CMMI for Services is the most suitable model for the organization. And if Software Development work is the major part of the complete Service Delivery and System Integration Services are very minor in nature then the most obvious model is CMMI for Development.
