For the above-mentioned question, CMMI consultants may take inputs from the following.

Process and Product Quality Assurance (PPQA) process area helps in the implementation of processes in the product and service delivery to ensure that they are delivered without non-compliance. It provides staff and management with objective insight into processes and associated work products.

Activities

Activities involved with Process and Product Quality Assurance process area are:

  • Evaluation of services, products and work products against applicable processes, standards, and procedures
  • Identification and recording of noncompliance issues
  • Providing updates to staff and management on these issues
  • Tracking noncompliance issues till closure

Inputs

Following are some of the inputs for the PPQA Process Area:

  • Quality Plan
  • Peer Review Plan
  • Audit Plan
  • Customer Feedback
  • Noncompliance reports
  • Evaluation reports
  • Status reports of corrective actions
  • Reports of quality trends

Outputs

Following are some of the outputs for PPQA Process Area:

  • Noncompliance issues
  • Evaluation logs
  • Quality assurance reports
  • Corrective actions
  • Status reports of corrective actions
  • Reports of quality trends

The above is not an exhaustive coverage of the Process and Product Quality Assurance (PPQA), CMMI Process Areas but is substantive enough for CMMI Consultants to create a good foundation of the PPQA process in an organization.
