What do you mean by CMMI Compliance, after CMMI SCAMPI A Assessment?

CMMI FAQ 1

5th July, 2013

After CMMI SCAMPI A Assessment is completed, most of the organizations fail to continue the process improvement activities. And over a period of time CMMI Compliance decline and this results in the increasing rate of non-compliances in the implementations at project and organizational level.

Whereas to maintain the CMMI Assessment, organizations must remain complaint to the CMMI Maturity Level requirement against which SCAMPI A Assessment was conducted. This requires continuous implementation of the processes in the projects and organizational activities (training, process development, audits etc.)

What is required for maintaining CMMI Compliance?

To be CMMI Compliant requires investment in terms of resources, time and money. QA Team or the SQA shall plan the compliance audits for all the projects and organizational activities in the organization. QA Team shall prepare a detailed plan covering all the projects and activities, days for audits and shall communicate to the implementations (Project Managers, Coding team, Test team, Requirement analysis team, Design Team, HR, QA etc) in advance so that they remain ready for the assessments.

Dear CMMI Consultant, what if we do not have internal resources for conducting CMMI Compliance Assessments?

This problem occurs with most of the organizations, resources working in the quality team leaves or tends to lose the focus on process improvement once assessment is completed.
