As we know for CMMI Assessments, the assessments are carried out by SCAMPI Methodology. SCAMPI B does not provide the Maturity Level Ratings but SCAMPI A provides Maturity Level Rating.
In order to find out the answer for the question, we have to examine the scale for SCAMPI B. Normally, the SCAMPI B scale is three-point scale. For e.g.:, red, yellow and green, where red indicates a poor level of implementation, yellow indicates a moderate level of implementation and green indicates adequate level of implementation. On the contrary, the SCAMPI A scale is a five point scale i.e. Fully Implemented (FI), Largely Implemented (LI), Partially Implemented (PI), Not Implemented (NI), Not yet Implemented (NY). Hence the comparison of the SCAMPI B scale is not possible with SCAMPI A scale. It would be fair to say that a successful SCAMPI B gives a reasonable idea for readiness of SCAMPI A. It would incorrect to say that a successful SCAMPI B gives an assurance or confirmation of successful SCAMPI A.
