For the above-mentioned question, CMMI Consultants may take inputs from the following:

Process and Product Quality Assurance (PPQA) process area helps in the implementation of processes into the service delivery, in order to provide an insight into the processes and work products associated with the product or service.

Activities

Process and Product Quality Assurance involves the following activities:

  • Evaluation of processes and outputs of project/service delivery with respect to the established processes
  • Collecting details of non-compliances
  • Communicating these non-compliances to relevant stakeholders
  • Also making sure that non-compliances get closed timely

Inputs

Following are some examples of input to the Process and Product Quality Assurance:

  • Organizational QMS (Quality Management System)/PAL (Process Assets Library)
  • Checklists
  • Artifacts/outputs from projects/service deliveries
  • Feedback
  • Past non-compliances
  • Corrective actions details

Outputs

Outputs created during the implementation of the Process and Product Quality Assurance activities are as under:

  • Updated checklists
  • Non-compliance issues
  • Plan for Corrective Actions
  • Audit report

The above is not an exhaustive coverage of the Process and Product Quality Assurance (PPQA) CMMI Process Area but is substantive enough to create a good foundation of the Process and Product Quality Assurance process in an organization.
