For the above-mentioned question, CMMI Consultants may take inputs from the following:

Measurement and Analysis (M&A) process area helps in managing the project measurement data by helping in the development and sustainment of the measurement data required for the managerial decisions.

Activities

Measurement and Analysis involves the following activities:

  • Setting up the measurement goals
  • Monitoring the project performance with respect to these defined goals
  • Communication the measurement analysis results to relevant stakeholders
  • Working on to control the variances

Inputs

Following are some examples of input to the Measurement and Analysis:

  • Measurement Objectives
  • Supplier measures
  • Project Management Plan
  • Estimation Sheet
  • Work Breakdown Structure
  • Scope of Work (SOW) Document
  • Risk Log
  • Issue Log

Outputs

Outputs created during the implementation of the Measurement and Analysis activities are as under:

  • Acceptance criteria based on the supplier measures
  • Analysis specifications and procedures
  • Report from Analysis tools
  • Measurement Analysis Reports – Weekly / Monthly / Fortnightly
  • Minutes of Meeting (MOM) document
  • Milestone Review Report
  • Updated Issue Log
  • Updated Risk Log
  • Evidence of Risk and Issue Tracking Tool

The above is not an exhaustive coverage of the Measurement and Analysis (M&A) CMMI Process Area but is substantive enough to create a good foundation of the Measurement and Analysis process in an organization.
