Purpose of CMMI Process Area Validation (VAL) is to demonstrate that a product or product component fulfils its intended use when placed in its intended environment. Validation ensures that “you built the right thing.”
During validation end users conduct the evaluations in which they interact with the product and other stakeholders or systems in the intended environment in different scenarios in order to determine whether the product will fulfil its intended use or not.
Validation helps in building a confidence in the product at the same time it helps in identifying issues to be resolved.
