Within the Scope of CMMI Consulting Assignment, it is very important to describe the role of CMMI Coordinator at the client organization. It is recommended to document the role of CMMI Coordinator at the client organization in the Scope of Engagement of CMMI Consulting Assignment. All CMMI Consultants understand that the CMMI Coordinator plays a significant role during a CMMI Consulting Assignment. A good CMMI Coordinator at the client organization can make the difference of success and failure for a CMMI Consulting Assignment. CMMI Consultants are often asked the question regarding the role of CMMI Coordinator of client organization. There are various activities that can be defined. Some of them could be collecting the Project Information from the Project Managers and getting the Project Information Questionnaire filled up so that the Project Selection can be made. Another significant activity of the Project Coordinator can be to coordinate the communication with respect to the identified gaps in the Project and facilitation for the remedial action. This includes receiving the Gap Assessment Report from the CMMI Consultants and passing them on to the Project Managers for their response. Then, receiving the response with respect to the Gap Closure from the Project Managers and passing them on to the CMMI Consultants. In order to accelerate the process of CMMI Consulting, and avoid lot of back and forth iterative activity, it is advisable that the CMMI Coordinator organizes regular meetings between CMMI Consultants and the client stakeholders like Project Managers, HR Manager, Acquisition Manager, IT Manager, Senior Manager, SEPG, etc., and get the bottle-necks resolved. In this way the CMMI Coordinator is able to maintain a collaborative working relationship between the CMMI Consultant and Client Key Stakeholders and this leads to the success of the CMMI Consulting Assignment. As we can see that the CMMI Coordinator plays a catalytic role in the success of CMMI Consulting Assignment and this brings accolades to the CMMI Consultants also. Hence, when CMMI Consultants recommend any person for the role of CMMI Coordinator, it is important to keep in mind the personality attributes of the person being recommended.
