For the above-mentioned question, CMMI Consultants may take inputs from the following:

Integrated Work Management (IWM) process area is used to plan and manage the service delivery i.e. work, relevant stakeholders and their involvement as per the defined process which is tailored from the standard organizational processes.

Activities

Integrated Work Management involves the following activities

  • Tailoring the standard process and developing a project defined process for the project
  • Using the tailored process to manage the project/work
  • Setting the Project Work Environment based on the Organizational Standard Work Environment
  • Organizing Teams and assigning work to them
  • Organization process assets are used in the project and then project assets/artifacts are contributed back to organizational process assets
  • Planning stakeholders and their involvement at different stages of the service delivery
  • Monitoring stakeholders involvement, their assigned tasks, problems and risks, their commitments and addressing coordination issues

Inputs

Following are some examples of input to the Integrated Work Management:

  • Organizational process assets
  • Process tailoring requirements/needs
  • Work strategies in organizational process assets
  • Lessons Learnt Logs/Database
  • Work Environment Standards
  • Risk management strategy
  • Communication plans
  • Capacity and availability management strategy
  • Incident management approach
  • Team members pool

Outputs

Outputs created during the implementation of the Integrated Work Management activities are as under:

  • Project defined process
  • List of Stakeholders
  • Stakeholders involvement plan
  • Integrated plans
  • Revised requirements, plans, and commitments
  • List of members assigned to each team
  • Team charters
  • Periodic team status reports
  • Stakeholders involvement review reports
  • Propose improvements to the organizational process assets
  • Issues trakcer

The above is not an exhaustive coverage of the Integrated Work Management (IWM) CMMI Process Area but is substantive enough to create a good foundation of the Integrated Work Management process in an organization.
