Process Asset Library (PAL) is a repository, available at the central location in the organization. PAL contains important artefacts required for the Process Improvement in the organization.
PAL consists of the following artefacts:
Maintaining PAL repository is the primary responsibility of the Software Engineering Process Group (SEPG) Team or the Process Group (PG) Team. SEPG assign the responsibility of updating the artefacts to different members in the organization depending on the artefacts.
PAL in the organization provides guidance to the process implementers (Project Managers, SQA etc.) to help them by learning from past implementations. Process Implementers can use past similar project’s estimations, project planning, risk database, lesson learnt, defects data. This helps them in learning from past project implementations.
Creating and maintaining PAL requires careful planning and implementation. PAL should be implemented on a central repository so that everybody can access and use it. DQS India has expert CMMI Consultants who can help you in planning a good PAL repository for your organization. We can guide you for enhancing your PAL repository with Risks, Lesson Learnt, Tailoring Guidelines, SDLC Guidelines etc.
You can hire CMMI Consultant from DQS India for implementation of PAL in your organization in compliance with the CMMI Model. Contact Information is available at DQS India Contact Page.
