Organizational Process Performance (OPP) is a Process Area at CMMI Maturity Level 4 under Process Management category.
The purpose of OPP is to develop and maintain quantitative understanding of the Process performance in the organization.
OPP Implementation in an organization
OPP targets the improvement through Quantitative Analysis and Optimization. For implementing OPP in an organizations following
- Establish Objectives: First step in OPP is to establish the quantitative quality and process performance objectives in sync with the business objectives at organizational level.
- Identify Processes and Sub-Processes: Next step is to select the processes and (and / or sub processes) so that they relation can be established between them and further they can be analysed for process performance.
- Select Measures: Then select measures for the selected processes and sub-processes process performance analyses.
- Analyze Performance: Next step is to analyse the data collected for the processes and sub-processes and based on the measures selected for the same. Develop process performance baselines and process performance models using statistical tools (like Minitab, Crystal ball etc.). These models and baselines then are used to evaluate the performance of other projects in the organization.
